Behiang PHC has started serving as an efficient medical facility

Behiang PHC has started serving as an efficient medical facility at the interior village located along Indo-Myanmar border.

Thanks to the collective efforts of different Government Departments and elected leaders, the health centre now has uniterrupted power supply.

An electric transformer had been installed at the PHC complex through Singat AC MLA Ginsuanhau’s initiatives some time back. There are also solar panels to provide power back-up. The approach road had been revamped and water provided under Border Area Development plan.

The PHC now has a water tank which can store up to 20,000 litres. PHC Medical Officer Dr Steve Zou said that around 30 mothers have delivered baby at the health centre so far. The PHC also has modern infrastructure like labour room, ultra sound room, newborn care room with radiant warmers, immunization room, minor operation theatre and JSSK pharmacy etc, he said. One MBBS doctor, five nurses, two Ayush doctors, one microscopic expert and one pharmacist are currently providing the much needed health care to the villagers.
